SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN THIS STARRY NOVEMBER NIGHT!

Hammond, LA- Santa Claus is coming to town and bringing his carriage and some snow with him! The Hammond Downtown Development District will host the 13th annual Starry November Night. Starry November Night will take place on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 6pm until 10pm and is open to the public free of charge. The evening kicks off at 6:00pm at La Carreta when the holiday music begins and Santa Claus rides in on a horse drawn carriage to welcome everyone to Downtown Hammond.

Adults can enjoy our signature Wine Walk with a new twist: CHEESE provided by The Rind!  Anyone 21 years or older who would like to participate in the wine and cheese tasting can purchase a wristband and tasting glass for $20 at the DDD office, 2 West Thomas Street. Identification for verifying age will be required. The wristbands will go on sale at 5:30pm the night of the event. The following Downtown businesses will have wine and cheese tastings for you to enjoy.

Children are welcome to follow Santa to the Kid Zone, located on North Cypress Street, where there will be holiday fun for all ages! Snow will be in the streets for children to play. The Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center will have free controlled admission, giving children the chance to play in the center, write letters to Santa, enjoy cookies and milk, and have their Christmas photo taken with Santa Claus.

Guests can take a ride through Downtown in a horse-drawn carriage for only $5 per ride. Loading and ticket sales take place on South Cate Street. Children 5 and under ride free, and all children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Ticket sales will begin around 6:30pm.  

Downtown Hammond shops and restaurants will be open and alive with holiday spirit for this enchanting evening event as we begin the season of giving and sharing. The following businesses will be hosting special events and specials during Starry November Night:
