Local Artists in Hammond
The market for special effects makeup artists has been growing in popularity over the past decade, following the growing demand for makeup artists in our modern era. In fact, the profession is projected to grow by a whopping 10.2% in population from 2014 to 2024 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That isn’t to say this career is a walk in the park; however, twenty-four-year-old Regina Brown makes it possible by being the Makeup Manager for the haunted house ‘Rise’ in Tickfaw! Regina Brown has been working with special effects makeup since 2010 and started with Rise in 2012. With a criminal justice degree from Hammond’s own Southeastern Louisiana University under belt, she is currently attending the honorable QC Makeup Academy. This ambitious, creative, and spontaneous special effects artist is working on expanding her business and gaining experience. Although Regina is a part-time employee of Rise, she plans to have her own makeup line and YouTube channel one day to inspire other up and coming makeup artists that may need some advice, skills, or inspiration to pursue their own respective careers. Regina is inspired by “Nix Herrera” and “Madeyewlook” makeup artists channels from YouTube. She loves having the freedom to be abstract and put her own twist on many of the everyday looks that she creates and create new looks for from the haunted house ‘Rise’. Her services include event makeup and exciting special effects makeup! To see more of Regina Brown’s work or get in touch with the artist herself, follow her on Instagram @g.slayz. Add her on Facebook at ‘Regina Brown’, or ‘Rise’ to see her work! Even go check out the haunted house Rise in person. You might even see her in action as she touches up all of the actors!
