CASA: Pinwheels for Prevention

Child Advocacy Services CASA/CAC and Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana are hosting  a Pinwheels for Prevention Display and Press Conference at 10:30am Friday April 8, 2016 on the green space at SW Railroad Ave. and Coleman St. in downtown Hammond.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the pinwheel is the national symbol for happy, healthy childhoods. Pinwheels are planted in gardens around the nation to show support for families and children.

Pinwheels will be planted in the green space before the Press Conference. The Hammond event will be hosted by Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana and Child Advocacy Services.

Mayor Pete Panepinto will say a few words about the importance of raising happy, healthy children so that, as they become adults, Hammond will have residents that will contribute to the growth and prosperity of the city. All dignitaries will be given a pinwheel to hold during the press conference and asked to symbolically plant that pinwheel in the ground after the press conference ends.
