Culture & Creativity Week 
8/3 - 8/9 

What This Week Looks Like: 

  • Historic District Walking Tour: Learn the hisotriy of Downtown through a self-guide Historic Walking Tour. It's as easy as scanning the QR code to get started!   
  • Bike Rack Art Competition: The DDD will be installing bike racks in 6 locations. Each site will display temporary art throughout the year. We'll kick off our first competition this week! 
  • Pop Up Art: Pop up artist will be displayed around town
  • The Columbia Theatre will have a season premier, giveaways for season tickets & more! 
  • Chalk Walk: An all ages chalk walk on Saturday 8/8  partnered with the Hammond Regional Arts Center
  • Hammond Regional Arts Center will launch their "Artistry Classes." Art classes available every month, art class giveaways, Art-O-Mat giveaways, chalkwalk. 
  • & more! 


What we'll do for you: 

  • We will advertise each business or organization on social media, highlighting what's special about you and your mission.  
  • We will host drawings for gift cards. 
  • We'll provide Hot August Month swag and information.
  • We've created official HAM shirts to show Downtown pride. You can order some for yourself or your staff to wear for the week.
  • Most importantly, we'll get customers/donors through your door! 

What you need to do: 

  • How do you want to be involved? How do you want to partipate? Step 1 is to figure that out. Have an idea, give us a call. 
  • Schedule any programming you'd like to have for the week.  
  • Provide gift cards, t shirts, cups, etc. for giveaway prizes. 
  • Fill out your Culture & Creative form by 7/17

Retail Therapy Week

What This Week Looks Like:

  • Special pricing & sales 
  • Extended hours
  • Saturday Sidewalk Sale
  • Drawings for giftcards
  • T-Shirts for employees and owners

What you can do: 

  • Promote your favorite local retailers 

Back to School Week
8/24 - 8/30 

What This Week Looks Like:

  • Back to School specials
  • Hanging flags
  • Painting windows
  • Young Alumni Social with Southeastern Alumni Association: Date TBD
  • Picnic in the Park, August 29

What you can do: 

  • Show pride for local schools - flags, shirts, signs, etc. 
  • Specials for students 

Picnic in the Park 
8/29 | 4pm - 7pm

What This Event Looks Like:

  • Let's celebrate the end of a jam-packed month with a free event in the park! 
  • Local musicians playing in the gazebo. 
  • Attendees are encouraged to pick up food to-go and bring chairs/blankets.
  • Attendees will enter the public park at their own risk and are encouraged to practice social distancing while wearing masks.

What you can do: 

  • Make sure your restaurant is open for to-go service!
